Level-1 certification course

The inaugural Australian Billiards and Snooker Council (ABSC) Level 1 Snooker Coaching Certification Course, accredited by the WPBSA, was held in Sydney on 25–26 July, with nine prospective coaches from across New South Wales taking part.

The two-day course featured intensive training covering all aspects of snooker coaching and concluded with both practical and written assessments.

The course was run by SBNSW coaching director Andy de Haan who said, "It was very pleasing to see such a diverse group of experienced players from across the state come together with a shared commitment to growing the game and providing high-quality coaching to both junior and adult players." Andy is also leading the drive for the National Coaching program on behalf of the ABSC.

All participants successfully completed the course and are now qualified ABSC Level 1 coaches, able to provide coaching and support to players of all ages and skill levels.

If you would like to improve your game, or if you are new to snooker and would like an introduction from a qualified ABSC coach, please contact Andy via the enquiry form on the Snooker and Billiards NSW website or the ABSC website.
