COVID-19 Update and Other News

Hi Everyone,

We hope you have all stayed safe over the last few months through the COVID-19 period. No doubt a lot of people are itching to get back to the Snooker and Billiards tables and compete in the second half of this year. This disruption has certainly been disruptive for all sports and like you Snooker and Billiards NSW is also keen to get back to normality. In the mean time here is a quick update from the Board.

COVID-19

The Chairman of Snooker and Billiards NSW - Alex Render has been attending weekly updates with the NSW Government. Minister Lee addresses all Sports generally on a weekly basis. The last meeting on Friday 5th of June unfortunately did not provide too much more certainty on when Snooker and Billiards State run events will be able to continue. In addition to the NSW Government, we are also subject to any rules and regulations set by Clubs in NSW.and the Public Health Authorities.

Below are a few recent links for your reference around COVID-19.

Snooker and Billiards NSW had made a submission in April 2020 to counteract any financial impacts from COVID-19. According to NSW Government there is no further information at this stage around stimulus funding for our Sport. We will continue to pursue this and update our membership accordingly.

Together with the ABSC each State is starting to plan what the second half of 2020 will look like. Any events that will be run in NSW will be primarily focused on National Titles and NSW State Events. Unfortunately there will be gaps in our history of results due to COVID-19.
