This year marked the 10 year anniversary of the South Pacific Open Snooker after it was initiated by the NSW Billiards and Snooker Association in 2006. For the first 3 years the event was known by many as ‘Chilli’ due to a sponsorship deal at the time. 

This year’s 6 Red Snooker Championships were held at Club Marconi for the first time, on the 29/30 August. The club has fantastic facilities and one of the best Snooker Rooms in Sydney.

This year’s titles were again held at BLACKTOWN WORKERS CLUB. Roger Farebrother has successfully defended the title with a brilliant all round display of potting, break building, tactics and safety play, and just a general never say never commitment to the way he plays. 

Terry had a battle against Allan House and Ronnie had a fight against Peter Kerr both coming through 3-2 in the Semi’s to meet in the final.

The 2015 Australian Masters Snooker Championship was successfully staged at Mingara Recreation Club from 30th April – 3rd May. 

The minors were on again at Toukley RSL on the central coast, a great location for a weekend away and a game of snooker. The club is very comfortable and friendly and of course has excellent facilities.

This years 6 red minors was again held at Bexley Rsl, congratulations to Michael Hough who took the title from David Liu.

This was the 4th year the Masters has been held at Club Marconi, so far only 2 names on the trophy, (despite Shawn Budd now qualifying as a master), this year’s winner Joe Minici and Roger Farebrother have now won 2 titles each.

The 2014 White Elephant NSW Doubles was again held at Club Marconi. Club Marconi is one of our major venues for snooker and the snooker club contribute more than a lot to our sport, particularly Jim Ruisi and Vic Sacco, their ongoing support is extremely valuable .We would also like to thank the Mario Sanna family for their very generous sponsorship for this event.

The 2014 South Pacific Snooker Championship was held at Club Marconi on the 13th and 14th of September this month. Congratulations to Adrian Ridley from Victoria for winning the prestigious event over Kurt Dunham (also Victorian) with a close final being 4-3. 

This year’s Championships were held at Hornsby RSL Club on the 30/31 Aug, the club has fantastic facilities and one of the best Snooker Rooms in Sydney.

This years titles were held at BLACKTOWN WORKERS CLUB for the third year running. The event attracted 53 entries 10 more than last year and 19 more from 2012. It was a huge program to get through, to enable what would most certainly be a very high quality final to be showcased.

NSW’s Glen Wilkinson has successfully defended his Australian Masters Snooker title and also continued a remarkable run of success in this particular event, with victory in the 2014 Championship now extending his Australian Masters titles to 5 in just the 9 year history of the event.
