This was the 4th year the Masters has been held at Club Marconi, so far only 2 names on the trophy, (despite Shawn Budd now qualifying as a master), this year’s winner Joe Minici and Roger Farebrother have now won 2 titles each.

The 2014 White Elephant NSW Doubles was again held at Club Marconi. Club Marconi is one of our major venues for snooker and the snooker club contribute more than a lot to our sport, particularly Jim Ruisi and Vic Sacco, their ongoing support is extremely valuable .We would also like to thank the Mario Sanna family for their very generous sponsorship for this event.

The 2014 South Pacific Snooker Championship was held at Club Marconi on the 13th and 14th of September this month. Congratulations to Adrian Ridley from Victoria for winning the prestigious event over Kurt Dunham (also Victorian) with a close final being 4-3. 

This year’s Championships were held at Hornsby RSL Club on the 30/31 Aug, the club has fantastic facilities and one of the best Snooker Rooms in Sydney.

This years titles were held at BLACKTOWN WORKERS CLUB for the third year running. The event attracted 53 entries 10 more than last year and 19 more from 2012. It was a huge program to get through, to enable what would most certainly be a very high quality final to be showcased.

NSW’s Glen Wilkinson has successfully defended his Australian Masters Snooker title and also continued a remarkable run of success in this particular event, with victory in the 2014 Championship now extending his Australian Masters titles to 5 in just the 9 year history of the event.

The minors this year were held again at Toukley RSL on the central coast, a wonderful spot for a weekend away and a spot of snooker. The club itself is very comfortable and friendly and of course has excellent facilities.

The final, which was played as a best of 7 between Joe Minici and Roger Farebrother, proved to be a great quality final. With more than 30 people watching the final, Club Marconi's Roger Farebrother proved too strong for a Joe. Joe was not playing as well all weekend, but showed his class the whole tournament to scrape through his matches. Eventually Roger taking out the title with a 4-1 win. Roger also claimed the tournament high break with a lovely 81.

The NSW Doubles was held on the 30th of November at one of our most supportive clubs that being Club Marconi.

Victorian player Adrian “The Riddler” Ridley has continued his good recent displays with an impressive 4-2 victory over Shawn Budd in this year’s Pot Black Open Snooker which was staged on 9th – 10th November at Blacktown Workers Club.

Congratulations to Joe Minici the winner of the 2013 NSW state 6-red snooker championships held at central coast leagues club this past weekend.

Ben Judge the Australian number 18 before this event from Western Australia has recorded a 4-2 victory over Hassan Kerde the Australian number 7 from NSW in the Final of the 2013 Club Marconi South Pacific Open Snooker. 

Over 40 players travelled to Toukley to compete in this year’s minor grade championships. Once again these championships attracted a very strong field with many favourites for the title. The last 16 saw two of these favourites suffer defeat as both Luke Hough and Rob Elsley lost their matches on a deciding frame to Danny Townsend and Ali Gangi respectively.

A strong field of over 40 contested this year’s NSW Snooker Championships held at Blacktown workers Club. This is the first year of a 3 year $6000 partnership with the BSANSW and Blacktown workers. Blacktown workers once again provided a fantastic venue and local support with the snooker room filled each day with spectators who witnessed some fantastic snooker which was evident by this year’s break board with 3 centuries and other large breaks produced.

Glen Wilkinson has recorded a comfortable 5-1 victory over a gallant Terry Emmett in the Final of the 2013 Australian Masters Snooker Championship. Victory in the all-NSW Final now gives Wilkinson his 4th National Masters title in the 8 year history of the event. Joe Minici created NSW Snooker and Billiard history by winning the 2013 NSW Masters Snooker Championship held at Club Marconi 9th 10th March.

On Saturday 1st December the NSW State Doubles Snooker Championship was hosted at Hornsby RSL for the first time. The event was made of 14 teams and was played over the one day with all matches being best of 5 frames. 

Sydney’s Own Shawn Budd has added the 2012 Club Marconi South Pacific Open Snooker title to his growing list of achievements, following a  4-2 Final victory over Steve Mifsud from Victoria  in last weekend’s National Ranking event.

Roger Farebrother has emerged as a very worthy winner of the inaugural 2012 NSW State Masters Snooker Championship following a convincing 3-0 Final victory over Terry Emmett in last weekend’s event.

Popular Victorian player James Mifsud has added the 2011 Club Marconi South Pacific Open Snooker title to his growing list of achievements, following a convincing 4-1 Final victory over Glen Wilkinson in last weekends National Ranking event.
